Secret Garden Firenze, boutique b&b in Florence. My review
When I am asked to recommend a bed and breakfast in Florence my first choice is always the Secret Garden Firenze. When I discovered it I literally fell in love with it, it’s exactly the kind of accommodation I would choose for my travels.
I wanted to visit the Secret Garden Florence in person, and so I became friends with Lucrezia, the lovely girl who runs it together with her partner Filippo, her brother-in-law Francesco and the cat Fulvio. Lucrezia and I have several interests in common, first of all that for plants, greenery and gardens.
Secret Garden Florence b&b. My review
As you can guess from the name, the b & b has a beautiful garden which is the heart of the property and the kingdom of Fulvio. But even in the rooms and common areas, plants are always there, to give harmony and well-being. It is very nice to have breakfast outdoors, surrounded by mediterranean plants, or in the big, charming kitchen.
The Secret Garden Firenze bed & breakfast is located in a super quiet area of the historic center of Florence, very close to the Accademia Gallery museum and the Duomo. It is a small oasis of peace and tranquility, specially precious in Florence, where gardens are quite rare.
It is housed on the ground floor of an ancient Florentine palace, in what was once the large house of the family of Francesco and Filippo. The two brothers, together with Lucrezia, have renovated it while maintaining its ancient character, transforming it into a cozy boutique bed and breakfast.
Organic breakfast and cooking classes
Francesco and Filippo are two chefs with years of experience, and they are in charge of preparing the fantastic breakfasts of the Secret Garden Firenze, with organic ingredients, homemade cakes and seasonal products. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free breakfasts are also available.
You can also take advantage of their experience asking them to give you a private cooking class!
The rooms
The b & b has four double rooms that bear the names of as many Mediterranean plants: Dandelion, Vine Leaf, Sage and Thyme.
In addition, there is also a studio apartment for four people with a kitchen, named after Rosemary. All are furnished with natural fabrics, soft colors and design to recall the world of nature. And of course some indoor plants.
