Guido Scattola Tour Guide in Florence
When I can’t personally give a guided tour, I usually ask Guido Scattola to replace me. Guido Scattola is not just a very good friend, but also a knowledgeable, trusted and responsible tour guide. We met in 2016, when I was teaching at the school for becoming a tour guide, an he was one of my best students. I was impressed by his enthusiasm, curiosity and dedication, and also by his final exam. He got his license that same year, and he’s working professionally as a freelance tour guide since 2018, cooperating with tour operators and welcoming private guests from all over the world.

Guido Scattola tour guide in Florence
He was born and raised in Venice, where he lived until his teenage years, when his family moved to Tuscany. Alongside with Florence (where he lives) and Tuscany, Guido Scattola also working as a tour guide in Venice, sharing iconic highlights and lesser known gems of his hometown.
Guido’s favorite sites in Florence are often off the beaten path, such as the Medici Chapels, the church of Santa Maria Novella and the Medici villas located outside the historic center, places that reveal deeper layers of history, art and daily life. He’s a foodie and a wine lover, and he really enjoys giving food and wine tasting tours in Florence, especially in the local markets.

Guido speaks fluently 4 languages, and he can give guided tours in English, Italian, French and Spanish. What truly defines his work is passion: he strongly believes that a great tour is not just about facts, but it’s about storytelling, enthusiasm and creating meaningful, memorable experiences. And I totally agree with him!
In his free time, music plays a crucial role: he’s a devoted fan of Pink Floyd, and loves metal and classical music. He’s very sporty, regularly training and playing tennis.

Guiding is not just my profession, but a true vocation – one that I approach with curiosity, energy, and genuine love for art, history and human connections.

Guido led our private group of 6 for an amazing Saturday morning tour. He secured for us skip-the-line admission to the Accedemia which worked perfectly and got us inside in 5 minutes (while other visitors waited in long lines for hours). Guido was extremely knowledgeable about Michelangelo, the Medici family, Renaissance popes, art history, medieval musical instruments…we were captivated by historical facts and interesting stories.
Then we walked Florence for 2 more hours -at a great pace and saw many amazing sites. He spoke impeccable English, tailored the tour to our interests, kept it lively, spoke with passion and emotion.
What a wonderful introduction to glorious Florence. Grazie Mille Guido!
Thank you Ellen for your feedback about Guido! He will be delighted as I am!
